EdenTree Global Sustainable Government Bond Fund
It's time to invest in change for better
The EdenTree Global Sustainable Government Bond Fund aims to generate a regular income, payable quarterly, alongside capital growth over a period of five years or more by investing in government and government-related green, social, sustainable and impact bonds.
The Fund aims to invest in bonds whose proceeds will be used to finance new or existing projects that support a reduction in the level of carbon emissions caused by human activities and to enable greater access to basic social services.
The sustainable sovereign bond universe is growing in depth and diversity, allowing investors to access more geographies, sectors and impact themes than ever before. The quality of data is also improving, with issuers able to provide more transparent insights as the impact reporting process becomes standardised. This combination of improving data quality and increased depth and diversity of issuance offers a compelling case for sustainable sovereign bond investors.
The value of an investment and the income from it can fall as well as rise as a result of market and currency fluctuations, you may not get back the amount you originally invested.
Sustainability through Government Bonds
The EdenTree Global Sustainable Government Bond Fund was launched in 2024 and has been managed by David Katimbo-Mugwanya, EdenTree's Head of Fixed Income, since its inception.
The Fund will invest at least 80% of its assets in government and government-related bonds from developed markets with use-of-proceeds provisions. These assets will include sovereigns, sub-sovereigns, and agencies (debt securities issued or guaranteed by governments and their agencies), and supra-nationals (debt securities issued or guaranteed by supra-national bodies).

The EdenTree Global Sustainable Government Bond Fund has adopted the Sustainability Focus label. We are delighted to have met the high standards required to add this label to the Fund under the Sustainability Disclosure Requirements (SDR).
We believe the new SDR regime represents a positive step forward for the industry, one that will build trust in the sustainable investment market and help combat greenwashing.

David, as Head of Fixed Income, leads on EdenTree’s Sterling Bond and the Short-Dated Bond funds, the Global Sustainable Government Bond Fund and also co-manages the Global Impact Bond Fund. David joined EdenTree in 2015 and possesses close to two decades’ investment expertise within the asset class across sovereigns, corporate debt and money markets portfolios via designated mandates as well as bespoke investment solutions.
David is a CFA Charterholder, holds the Investment Management Certificate (IMC) and a BSc. Economics degree from the University of Essex. David is also a member of the London Stock Exchange’s Primary Markets Group, an advisory group to the LSE on matters relating to primary capital markets.
